I fancy making some festive biscuits - stars, holly leaves, xmas trees and the like. Anyone got a good simple plain biscuit recipe for cutting shapes out of?

Thanks

Yeah they're pretty easy.

You could also use a shortbread recipe (no egg) which makes great biscuits, and you don't have to make them look like shortbread.

Only trouble with shortbread is they take less of a battering, so stand up less well to decorating and hanging. More brittle, that's the word I'm looking for.

Made a batch last night for Mini Nelson's school Xmas fair so I could have tried a shorter recipe. Went with the original one though and they turned out nicely.

200g butter, 200g flour, 100g sugar. Cook for 10-15 mins
This means that if you make it with children and they happen to accidentally eat it there not eating raw egg which is always a bonus especially with little ones.
