Basic Guide For Applying Patch

I currently have the Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB HDD, and am having an issue where my whole computer is very jerky and seems like it's a bit laggy at times.

I was directed to this patch which directly refers to this HDD and my motherboard, the P8P67, and is supposed to fix compatibility issues between the two, so I'm hoping this will solve my issue. However, I'm not sure how to apply the patch.

The first step is "1. Please unzip attached file to Bootable media (USB,CD, Floppy...etc)."
How do I go about creating a bootable media? I've looked up guides on how to do it but most are too complicated for my knowledge or don't seem to end up working, so I'm really looking for the most basic and easy guide there is. Preferably would want to do it on DVD, but can do a USB if easier.

And also, the third step is "3. Booting the system to DOS mode by bootable media.(which with this F/W flash program).".
How do I do this, specifically for my motherboard/BIOS?

ok as i read it
1 unpack the rar onto your usb stick, (best to wipe it first so only the data you need is on)
2 shut down.
3 open pc make sure the only hd conected is the one you intend to flash
4 check the hd jumper is either Primary / Master
5 restart then go into bios and select usb as first boot device
6 run setup when prompted.

i think might be best to wait for some one else to confirm that first, as i have never done it my self.

hmm i had this problem just before trying to do my mobo bios, you have to make a bootable usb drive, using windows dos files, then you have to boot to the usb but you have to put the floppy drive as first boot device i think. just google it, if others have had to use the patch, there will be a tutorial.
