hi
i'm thinking of getting a E2180 chip and some RAM and plan to do some overclocking. i've never really done any overclocking before and just had some basic questions:

i'm confused about ram speed in relation to overclocking. i don't know whether to get PC2 5300 ram or PC2 6400 ram. I know that the FSB for these chips is 800. So does that mean i have to get 800mhz (PC2 6400) ram? Would this make the ram work perfectly in time with the CPU? I also see that the new E6x50 chips have a fsb of 1333, does this mean i have to get ram of that speed (1333) to fully ultilise the cpu?
and what happens when i start to overclock the CPU? would the ram also increase?

also what is vdrop and how does this affect me?

thanks

Divide the chips FSB by 2 to get the stock memory speed. Ie- 800 / 2 = 400, which is PC2-3200 (yes it does exist), and 1333 / 2 = 667, which is PC2-5300.

You're best just getting some PC2-6400 as it's cheap as chips these days.

Vdrop is the difference between what you set the vcore to in BIOS and what it really is in Windows.
