Basic Plumbing Question

Recently installed a new washing machine but the waste pipe isn't quite long enough. It reaches the waste connection (just) but it is so stretched that it isn't making a proper seal and so there is a small leak. I guess the easiest way to fix this is just to extend the white plumbing pipe slightly? I know you can get washing machine waste pipe extension hoses but that seems excessive for an extra few cm. How would I go about doing this? If you look at the picture below, can I get a slightly longer screw in section (circled in red) or do I need to get a longer bit of the blue circled section? The latter I think is solvent connected so not sure how easy it is to remove and replace it? Changing the screwed in section or screwing another bit on here would seem easier?

Not done much plumbing before but I think this should be relatively straighforward just not 100% sure of the best way to go about it and what I need to buy. Any advice appreciated. BTW I have tried pulling on the hose to get it on the waste a bit more but its pretty much at its full extent there.

Yeah I'm not entirely sure why they cut the hole there when the kitchen was put in. I would've thought putting it higher up would make more sense. I was trying to avoid having to take the washing machine out completely though and I don't really want to replace the waste hose on the back of the machine in case I screw it up and create a small leak in a place I can't see it. At least if I mess up the waste end of the connection it will be pretty obvious.

All waste water is pumped up, it doesn't matter really.

The blue bit you mention is solvent welded, so would need to be cut and then joined using a compression coupling, something like this will give you the extra length you require, it won't look the prettiest but is the simplest and cheapest method and it's hidden in a cupboard.

(I presume a link for waste pipe is allowed as overclockers don't currently do plumbing)

So basically buy that, unscrew the waste fitting, screw that on and then refit the waste connection on the end? So I essentially end up with 2 of the things circled in red joined together? Makes sense.

Right, so I tried the waste hose extension idea but the part I bought (from screwfix) didn't fit very well and I didn't want to flood my utility room. I think I may have bought a replacement hose instead of an extension (although plenty people in the reviews saying they used it as an extension?) maybe I needed an adapter or something.

Anyway I got bored with messing around with that and just got some new waste piping and solvent cement and have extended the waste pipe round the corner a bit and re routed the waste hose so it comes through the cabinet further back. It is no longer stretched and looks to have a pretty good seal now. Says you should wait 12 hours for the solvent to fully cure before using it so we'll find out tomorrow if it's worked or not. Looks OK though...

It's still leaking! The leak is coming from the join onto the spiggot where the jubilee clip with the yellow thumb screw is. Rest of the plumbing seems watertight though... The jubilee clip is on as tight as it will go and I can't get the waste hose on any further than it already is. I put it in boiling water etc before putting it on to try and get it on as far as possible. What have I done wrong and what is the next step here?

In not sure tbh i tried to take the adapter off before but I couldn't get it off. There is a lip inside the middle of the adapter which is what it's stopping it going on any further.

I just presumed the adapter was essentially part of the hose? It seemed so tight almost like it was glued on, I didn't want to try and force it off and damage the hose, then I've got a whole other problem...

Ok I've had another look, no way that black bit is coming off, I'm pretty sure its glued on. I even had it sitting in hot water there for 10 minutes, doesn't want to budge. In any case if you look inside the connection it looks like the grey bit is narrower so I don't think it is going to go any further down the spiggot?

Unfortunately I was away with work when it got put in so I'm not 100% sure what was done. Pretty sure the hose is how it comes though. You can get the exact same replacement part with what appears to be the same black bit.

Yeah I know it's annoying. I have been on YouTube looking at various Samsung washing machine installation videos and none of them have that connection.

OK I think I may have solved it. Basically after I took the last set of pictures I moved the jubilee clips slightly when I put it back on. I put the left hand clip on the other side of the lip on the black connector. I just ran a cycle and no leaks. Will keep an eye on it but hopefully its ok now...
