I know virtually nothing about suspension. If I were to replace my existing suspension, consisting of Prodrive springs and dampers, and replaced them with coilover suspension, am I right in assuming that the coilover is the complete unit and not just an uprated damper?

Coilovers are a complete replacement mate. What are you looking at? Eibach coilovers, ASTs etc?

Cant afford/justify AST's! I would love them, but they are way too much. Looking at some Eibach's or Teins. Ive got a Whiteline ARB and solid droplinks so it handles pretty damn good anyway. If I can afford coilovers along with the Mocom remap then its all good.

I missed out on an awesome deal revolution did on SN. £399 for bugeye Eibachs!

Do you need to check if your chassis is ok with coilovers? I'm not talking about fitment, but the loads. I know some manufacturers void chassis warranty because of this..
Just a thought..

Not sure about that one. I will look into it. Quite a few people with Subaru's run coilovers and Powerstation/Litchfield recommend AST coilovers. Cheers.

Anyone heard of G Force coilovers? Seems you can only buy them from SRB Power but Ive seen some 2nd hand ones for sale at a good price.

G Force are AKAIK the same units as D2 and K Sport, they come out of the same factory. They make your car handle well but the quality is so so. I have a set of D2s on my car and they work well but they do clonk and knock which can be quite annoying. The damping adjustment isnt as good as more expensive brands as the soft settings are too bouncy.

I only put up with it because the car handles so well with them and the price were quite cheap on a group buy.

Do they shake your bones (if you know what I mean)? I want better handling but I really dont want to spend the £700+ for Teins, Eibach etc. Ive seen some G Force's for £300 2nd hand.

As I said before, the soft damping is too bouncy for me so I have them set to firm and it is quite a bumpy ride on bad roads. That said, even the missus doesnt think its too bad, she never complains its uncomfortable so it isnt that bad. The spring rates I have on my car are 7kg/mm front and 5kg/mm rear.
