Ok, the first bits of my new build are on their way to me now thanks to a few auctions, they are,

E2160 with intel cooler, AsRock 4-core-dual sata motherboard (need the extra pata channels for my drives), and a Radeon HD3450 256mb pci-e card.

This will be going in my CM-330 case with a CM extreme 460 psu, 2x pata hdd's and a pata cd-rw, and for a few weeks my current ddr-266.

I'm planning on getting some corsair twin-xms2 ddr2-800 (2x1GB) to boost the memory up, and once the car's mot and everything are sorted out save up for a P35 motherboard, sata2 hdd, sata dvd-rw and Vista HPsp1.

Can anyone see any problems arising with the interim spec?

Not bothered about the oc ability, that can wait for the P35. Plan is to get a single sata hdd to replace all my pata's at the same time as the P35 upgrade, a 160 will be big enough for me, but will probably get a 250. Will be upgrading from pata cd-rw to sata dvd-rw at the same time too, just don't have the cash handy to go all out untill the car is sorted for another year.

The pata drives are getting smashed up when the P35 mobo, sata2 drives and vista get installed (All at the same time), so there'll be no pata devices running on the P35, unless I decide to keep the cd-rw for reading only.

the 4-core dual sata and corsair twin-x arrived today, just waiting on the e2160 and hd3450 and phase 1 of the rebuild can begin!!

The processor has arrived :), pack date 10/05/07, SLA8Z version, MO stepping. Just waiting on the graphics card now.................:(

I'm using the corsair twin-x xms2 ddr2-pc6400 ram.

Have had to reinstall XP 10 times, still the audio refuses to work, and with every re-install less and less updates are succesful, I'm ready to throw it out of the window and go back to the athlon..........................

Tried with the old ddr pc-2100 and was still getting random shut-downs and failed updates, have gone back to the old athlon internals now.
