I'm in need of some webhosting for a basic website. It doesn't need to be anything special, just the best value for money is fine.

Any recommendations?

i think this guy said it best http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12775255&postcount=8

they have a new basic hosting package which will be hard to beat in price and what you get, as well as support which is worth so much, i'd gladly pay another £17 per year just for the support they offer which comes freely from them. it's so great they reply within seconds, seriously had a reply from them within 1 minute. check them out.

I'm with tsohost. Just recieved an email from them saying they have extended their support hours. So now support is open 9am - 8pm weekdays and 10am-6pm weekends. Although they usually get back to fairly quickly via raising a ticket on their site.

There seems as many hosting companies as there are websites these days LOL. Is there any good independant hosting review sites? Or is it just a case of what friends recommend?

BTW, anyone use www.hostpapa.co.uk . Came top in 1 review site I found.

there may be but you have to remember as soon as a website like that takes off and gets many visitors it becomes a nice target for the companies to pay for reviews and then you never know if the review was legit or paid for.

we have our own, http://www.ochostreview.co.uk

many people have reviewed the companies so you get a good over view of what is considered best by the people here.
