Hi could some one help im looking for the bass redirection option for my X-Fi Xtreme Music card.
All i have installed is drivers and theres no option in Audio console, could some one point me in the right direction ie: do i need to install more stuff off the cd cos dont look like there's much else on there.

ps reason i need this option is because i have no sub when using 5.1.

If you fire up the main console be it for Games or Entertainment and go to the part where you select the Speaker Type. There is a button next to the drop down list "THX".

That opens the THX Setup Console and the last tab on there is called 'Bass Management". You can alter the redirection frequency which I have at 80Hz and enable Subwoofer Gain 15dB. :cool:

lo m8 the only console i have is Audio console and theres no option you describe there ?

do i need other software installed apart from drivers ?

No worries, do you have the retail version of the card? I'll get some screenshots for you.

If you don't have those, you may need extra software from the CD installed. :)
 
mm thx for pics but did not work i still have no sub :(

im starting to think sub channel on card at fault.

center and sub share same port center ok but no sub.

Yeah iirc it should go like the following into the card,

Front, Centre/Sub, Rear

What happens if you plug the Centre/Sub connection into a different one, does any sound come out of the sub then?
 
i swaped phones on amp so center is sub and sub is center and sub worked but no center so sounds like card what ya think ?

As a side note, how many people sit naked on the floor to listen to thier music :D (as per the THX diagrams).

It does to me, unless you can think of anything else to check? Clearly this shows the sub is not broken (or any of the speakers for that matter) so it must be the input on the card? But I would try and test it and rule out any possibilities before saying the card is broken, just to be on the safe side. :)
 
mm i just truned off 6 channel on my amp and gone back to normal mode and lost all speakers of course ,but the sub is now working on its own so i must be getting a signal from the card , could have prob with input on amp.

my amp is yamaha rx-v520rds.

just like to say thx too Firegod all sorted m8, was the card after all i have new one come today from overclockers week turn around not bad , im a happy man now ,think iv'e just woke the nabours cos tried sub out full wack sounded like thunder :D tis 1 in the morning here.

Hey good to hear that it's working! :D Result one week turn around!

Enjoy the card, it really is worth the money, but you spend ages fiddling with it to get everything sounding right.
