Guys windows 7 AERO is being a bit silly and crashes after 4 seconds after boot It is fixable with cmd command to start and stop service.

Any idea how to fix aero problem, windows automatic problem solution thing does not work...

If it cant be fixed, how can I delay .bat file start up by about 5 seconds?

easier answer

create a batch file
rundll32.exe dwmApi #104

put in your startup folder. will force AERO off :p

then you can turn it off full stop

Set the service itself for a delayed start? Sorry, I'm not familiar with the AERO app or how it starts up.

Easier and quicker to reinstall Windows than try and fix the problem to be honest.

Install windows - 30-45 minutes if you've got a decent rig
Find and install drivers - about 30 minutes, maybe more
Reinstalling every software package on the system - forever and a day

I try and avoid reinstalling windows for this very reason.

Install Windows 7 - 15 minutes on my rig - it's certainly not top end
Install Drivers (Windows Update is pretty good and on 100Mb Virgin connection takes around 10-15 minutes to download and the same to install)
Install Software - depends what you have - takes me about 15 minutes for Office / etc. though I use Virgin Backup and Restore program and once that's installed it drags down the rest of my gubbins and I install from there

If you do have a lot then I'd seriously recommend you image it up (loads of free 'ghost' like utiilities out there - I still have my ghost licence which takes around 15 minutes to restore from). Just install all your stuff and latest drivers and whilst the operating system is setup how you want it and 'clean' make a quick image.
