Batch embed filename onto an image?

As title, I need to get the filename overlayed ontop of a number of photos im getting printed. Is there any easy way to do it?

Write and action in photoshop to do it, then run it as a batch.

I know how to create actions, but have no idea of how to grab the filename from the file and add that to the action?

Hmm, I see what you mean. What version of Photoshop do you have? In CS3 there is a tool under File>Automate called picture package that allows you to overlay the filename. Not sure if thats of any use?

I manage to find a script that you can cutomise and add as part of an action, works a treat. Thought I would add it incase anyone does a search on the forum for similar thing!
