Batch ID3 Tagging Tool?

I am searching for an application that I can use to tag my MP3's properly like i used to on my PC.

An plugin for winamp would allow me to wipe out all ID3 tags on a load of files at once, then re-write the tags from file names.

I have found an app to do the latter, called TriTag, but its a PPC app. Does anyone know of an app that will let me wipe out ID3 tags on a load of mp3's then retag them all using the filename to get the info? And Universal Binary would be great

I'm also looking for something like this for Ubuntu, for renaming files based on their ID3 tags.
