batch renaming photos

The thing is, it's a bit more specific than you may realise.

What I have is a filename like this:

001 C000151 BEAUNE AMBRE ANTICATAO.jpg

I want it to look like this:

C000151.jpg

The 3 digits + white space character is constant, as is the length of the product code, so I was hoping to find some program that'd make this easy to do, but I've not had a lot of luck! I've tried IrFanView, but it doesn't seem to do what I want it to.

Any suggestions?

Have a look for a program called File Renamer Ultra it should be able to do what you're looking for.

I use Bulk Rename Utility. Also pretty good.

You dont need a utility. Highlight all the files in a folder, then click on the first in the series and rename it to the first number in the sequence say 0, they will all be renamed, 01 02 03 etc.
Admitently, its not as good as the program because it renames them all 0 (1) 0 (2).
