Bath info for stag do?

I'm best manning for a friend whose decided he wants his stag do in Bath (of all places) and I'm trying to research a bit about the area having never been.

Can anyone suggest bars and pubs in the centre and anything that's worth checking out for a stag do?

Screw that, come to Bristol, a lot better for a filthy and memorable stag do ;)
 
Bath? You'd better sit on your hands before the excitement gets you!

Bath is pretty dull for a stag do. There's nothing (stereotypical) staggy in Bath, the nearest gentlemans club for instance, is Bristol. Bath doesn't allow licences to gentlemans clubs, there are one or two "underground" ones though, but not advertised.

All in all, Bristol would be better and has generally a more "stag" appeal nightlife

I think the general consensus is don't go to Bath for a 'classic stag do' ie a drunken lads weekend of mixing Rugby tour antics, paintballing and stip clubs. However by the sounds of it if you want to have a nice weekend with your mates it would be pretty good, loads of countryside on your doorstep for some day time activities or take in a game of Rugby, loads of decent proper pubs for some nice drinks and probably some great food and then a limited selection of crap clubs should you feel the urge. Rent a house for the weekend you'll have a blast.

End of last year (November) I was there and three Poole arrested for drugs and another two stabbed! Not dealt changed much since it was the Blue rooms!

Po na na's is a good night as is Opa. All depends on what you want from a night out!!


Stag do in bath would have to be Rugby and a skinful, have done it many times and never looses its appeal. £22 for a ticket on the terraces and awesome fun when your there.

This. Hookers and strip clubs = Bristol. Rugby & good beer = Bath.

The two cities are so close they are practically joined so of course both have good beer, if you read the whole thread the poster you quoted was just sumarising ie

Go to Bristol if you want hookers, strippers etc
Got to Bath if your idea of a good weekend is seeing a game of Rugby and drinking a few nice beers with your mates.

But this is such a poor generalisation when comparing the 2 cities. :(
