It appears our bathroom extractor fan is on it's way out, the motor slows down then dies after running for a couple of minutes. How easy are they to replace for a noob? Obviously there are wires which need putting in the right place but is it as simple as popping the old unit off and rewiring it all where it should go and fastening it all back up?

Anything I should be aware of..? I'd rather not pay for an electrician if it's a 10 minute job.

Yes it is that simple. I assume you just have an in wall/ceiling fan with no timers etc?

Yea, remember to get one with a timer built in would be my advice too, it's just an additional little circuit inside the unit, it just gives the room a little longer to clear the after effects.:D

Easy unless you knock off the vent on the outside facing wall while cleaning it and you don't have a ladder.

I wish I'd changed mine for one with a humidity sensor so it only comes on with the shower.
