Over there...
We're having a new bathroom fitted, and have looked at:

Better Bathrooms (everything seems out of stock)
Simply bathrooms (seems a bit amateur)
Victoria Plumb (can't see it in the flesh)
Porcelanosa (seems pricey)

Do people have any experiences/comments/suggestions?

Also, where to go for decent affordable tiles? Topps?

Topps tiles are very expensive. I did my bathroom early this year and saw some tiles I liked in topps for £38 per metre, Googled and found them for £18 a metre.

By all means go for inspiration but check online before you buy.

I used Tile-HQ which is Travis Perkins - seem to do similar stock to Tile Giant.

For other items, I used Plumbworld but grabbed my tap from Plumbnation.

Parents used better bathrooms and they were great. However my in-laws used them afterwards and it was a complete nightmare with wrong parts supplied and badly fitting items. Oh and they took payment twice somehow!

So dunno if I'd use them, I know every company has an off day though.

Just finished my bathroom. I used topps tiles but only because they offer treble up on Tesco club card points.

For the bathroom suite, I bought everything online, as they could beat the price offered by my local bathroom specialist. Even after he applied "supplier discount".

I got most of the stuff from http://www.ukbathrooms.com/, who were fantastic and have really good site. Although there were a couple of items that were significantly cheaper on other sites. Just decide what you like then shop around.

I would highly recommend a Kudos shower if you're looking for a separate shower unit.

I generally stay clear of places like B&Q, Homebase etc.
