Bathroom light showing signs of rust

I put in this bathroom light about a year and a half ago:

Its showing signs of rust inside the steel ring bit and on one of the nuts

The fixture (bit thats screwed into the ceiling) is fine strangely enough.

Can anyone recommend a bathroom light that wont rust? I thought that one would have been a safe bet since its IP44 but I guess not.

Something plastic, far better material for use in the bathroom IMO.

IPx4 is only protected against splashes so steam/moisture/condensation etc can and will get in.
You could try something greater like IPx6 but there's still no guarantee that condensation/steam/moisture etc won't get in and do its thing as that isn't a specified requirement of IP ratings.
As mentioned above, material that doesn't rust is the only way to be certain.

Take a look at these, scroll down 4th one, 14w LED, plastic and you can get different colour trim

I've a similar light - http://www.diy.com/rooms/laguna-satin-chrome-effect-bathroom-flush-light/36722_BQ.prd and no rust after a few years

Not sure if it's expensive or not, but I got sick of looking at bathroom lights so just bought it lol.
