As above, looking for the best white paint for the bathroom refurb, silk finish for wipe clean.

Rest of the house is Dulux matt and I've not been impressed with its durability at all.

Cheers

I've done 2-3 coats of Dulux white silk in all our bathrooms and have not had any issues - I certainly wouldn't describe it as 'crap'. I considered paint labelled as bathroom paint, but read the paint itself resembles runny orange peel.

Dulux is indeed crap. Took 6 coats to cover an olive green kitchen with white recently and the paint is splitting in places already. Endurance my ass.

Dulux is fine, more internet scaremongering crap. We have dulux all through our flat and most we've needed is the standard 2 coats. We got the bathroom paint for the bathrooms and the finish is the same as normal.
I would put money on poor prep being the cause of peeling paint tbh

Pretty much this, used dulux endurance and no real issues paint and coverage was good. As with anything you need to prep the walls or surface well I used sugar soap 2-3x on my walls, sanded it down and then applied 3 coats of dulux endurance and it looks solid and nice. scuffs and scrapes can appear but they do wipe off well although not all of them but at least the paint does not come off with it.

Sometimes painting on a dark or opposite colour I read you can paint it with 2-3 undercoats of white paint even and then repaint on top.

I will however try johnsons next time or better yet get the wallpapers in :)

I paint and decorate for a living, and tbh dulux has got pretty poor lately. Even their trade range of products aren't as good as they used to be. I prefer johnstones or Leyland more now. Much better coverage.
