I am looking to upgrade the bulbs to Philips Hue Colour, so just need to see if they will fit in the enclosure or if the entire units need replacing, unlike the spots in the kitchen, these do not seem to have a screw-off fascia.

Are you sure it doesn't just pop off? Most bathroom ones are rubber sealed so a twist and pull is generally all that's needed... not sure with that one though.

Any brand name you can Google to find a manual?

I have a feeling they're not replaceable too. A friend just had some installed that are similar and was told that the bulbs aren't replaceable in them. I found it very bizarre, seems quite wasteful for when they eventually blow, although of course because they're LED we're told at the point of install they should last for way longer than normal bulbs.

Those bulbs aren't replaceable. The whole unit will need to be swapped.

Well that's a bit of a kicker! They'll need replacing regardless then whilst I have a sparky in. Now to find a compatible unit for the longer Philips Hue Colour Gu10s.

I had some when we had the bathroom refitted, eventually all but 1 blew so I replaced them with ones where you could change the LED bulbs, it's something to do with the IP rating and they are fireproof or something of the sort.

Yep, I have sealed (non-replaceable) units in my bathroom for the water and fire rating

You dont need non replaceable to get fire and water ingress rating
Ive got IP65 and fire rated with normal GU10.
The IP65 is from the screw on and sealed front. The fire rating comes from the heat reactive gasket thingy, and the fact its basically a sealed back.

However those units do look like sealed ones

iP65 are sealed to stop water ingress however you can usually unscrew the bezel part which will reveal the GU10 fitting to place the bulb into. Weird that they are sealed..

I'd.swap them for some decent IP65s with GU10 fittings. I have JCC ones.

At least you can get access and change bulbs

Are you sure they defenatly do not unscrew? Grip the shiney metal bezel at the bottom and turn hard clockwise or anti clockwise.

I've replaced bubs on two of these similar IPxx units. One had been sealed/glued so I had to change the whole unit (£8/9 from a DIY place), the other was perfectly fine to pop up the lid which was spring-held, with a rubber seal, and just replace the bulb. PITA to replace though, as one was over the batch, and the other over the sink.
