Hi,
Im living in a rented property at the moment, its was an old 19th century Warehouse but converted 25 years ago in flats. The bathroom has no windows and only a small vent with a fan on that must lead outside somehow. We keep the fan on for about 2 hours after a shower but it still gets quite damp in there immediately after, and the paint is all peeling. We will be moving out shortly and want to paint the 2 two small walls where it is pealing.
I notified my landlord 2 months after moving in explaining what was happening, and read that because there are no windows in there that the DPS people would likely side we us if an issue arose, but I want to get it painted so I get ALL my deposit back with no hassle - I'd rather spent a couple of quid on paint and get the £800 back a week after we move out.
I plan to scrape off the paint, this will be a very easy task as its falling off. Then I was thinking of using an electric heater with thermostat on and keep it warm for 24hours, so it dries out. Then paint it and leave the heater on for another 24 hours. Does this sound sensible or are there better options? what type of paint should I use? Im thinking of doing this a week before we move out so the paint dries and smell goes away. would having a shower after 24hours of painting it effect it the look? It just needs to stay looking good on the day I move out! any advice is welcome.
cheers,
