Now, am i going a bit crazy or do i actually remember seeing some sort of bodge to make the game physX use the cpu (i7) for extra oomph?

GOnna buy it once my windows points code comes through, have a 280 so should be fine but was just wondering? I can't seem to find anything and its bugging me as im sure i saw graphs and everything!11

Wouldn't mind some more info on this, just started playing the game and noticed on my GTX280 that framerate more than doubles if I disable PhysX. Unfortunately I have a P55 board so I'm reluctant to drop in my 8800GTS-320 as a dedicated PhysX card as it would drop the lane speed to 8x.

On the other hand you're probably not saturating much more than 8 lanes on your 280, let alone 16. The 8800 will also ease the bandwidth requirement as it'll be handling all the PhysX calculation.

Yeah but I was more worried about other games that don't utilise PhysX - I don't want to have to keep swapping it in and out depending on what game I play. Then there's the whole issue of power consumption and heat, only worth doing if I know it will give a big boost in PhysX titles.
