For some reason the built in benchmark was removed from the game when it was converted to use steam works instead of GFWL.
Anyone know if the benchmark is available as a stand alone ?

No, But the fact that it did come with a benchmarking tool and it was then removed is why people are complaining.

It's like saying, Your computer only originally had 1 780, You added a second and on an update the 2nd was removed so don't complain, Same argument lol

While I can see your point, I do feel that there's no real room for anyone to complain. After all, anyone that didn't already own the GOTY edition got a free upgrade. And as I said we got rid of GFWL and gained a Steamworks
version instead.

Lol?

Cannot compare buying two full priced products and having one 'removed' to a small feature being removed from a video game. It would kinda work as a comparison if you spent £30 on Asylum and then another £30 on the benchmark...

Let me introduce you to a revolutionary idea: it's possible to be both happy to be rid of GFWL, and irritated that you've lost the benchmark.

I liked having the benchmark. I'm glad Arkham City still has its benchmark.

I don't understand why you still need the benchmark. Surely you used it previously, found that you could play the game ok on your computer and that was that. Why would you want to use the benchmark again? Especially on a game that was released almost 5 years ago.

Its not overly demanding anyway, got everything at max other than physx at first option and i get a constant 60fps at 1080p on my i5 3570 @ GTX670.

Thats the only benchmark figure worth noticing.

It's just a benchmark, why do people get so hung up on this kinda stuff?

There's plenty of other tests you can stress your GPU with :)

When fiddling around with different overclocking settings, it's handy to be able to test again in games you've tested before at the same settings. Likewise, when you get new CPUs or graphic cards.
