Batman Arkham City - £14.98 on GreenManGaming

I want to but what's the deal with this GMG Capsule? Does it need to be run every time you want to play the game or only to download new games which then install like a normal game you installed off a DVD?

its just to download games, then just launch like a normal game or add the exe file to steam library

I bought it from GMG but cant get it to run, wish i had of just bought it on steam i'll never buy another game from GMG that cant be activated on steam capsule is a complete joke.

GMG £11.98 at the moment.

Good deal, however don't you have to run GreenManGamings 'Capsule' download/client service in background whilst playing the game, along with GFWL?

I'd rather not install yet more client junk just to play a game.

^^ GFWL- yes:(, Capsule however is just a downloader(and a good one imo), you can run it straight from the .exe after it is downloaded without running Capsule.

Even games which use Capsule as DRM do not need it running I believe?

I bought it from GMG yesterday but although mine was ok I know on their forum people have reported corrupted zip files when they have come to install it.

No joke when the game comes down in just one zip file that weigh's in at a huge 15.4GB. So if you still have a slow connection and/or mean bandwith limits then you might want to reconsider taking the risk.

Oh.. and mine could not be activated on Steam either (shame that).

Exactly same problem when trying to install last night :(

Down loaded zip over good internet connection, so not exactly a great first purchase impression, be a long while before I consider a purchase from GMG again…

I don't think it does come down as one big zip file. From what I have read, it comes down in smaller chunks, and once it has downloaded all the chunks, it combines them into a zip file. The problem lies in the fact that it does not verify the chunks are correct before combining them.

If they were to just implement the verify files like Steam does, it would be fine.

I too had this problem. The first time I downloaded it with corruption, I opened the zip in Winrar, and it told me which file was corrupt. I then deleted the 16GB and re-downloaded it, and this was corrupt, but a different file this time.
Having already downloaded 35GB of files, I didn't want to do it again, so used Winrar to extract the files (skipping the bad file), then re-zipped it without the file.
Capsule was then able to install the game, and so far the game runs OK. If it crashes later, I may then try downloading again.

Steam is still better, but Capsule is not too bad.
