Does anyone find that one controller uses their battery up faster than the other..?

test.jpg

See above for the left being used faster than the right. I have removed the grips in case that is compromising the sensors etc.....
Contacting Meta support they asked me to reset the controllers....

Use the correct button combination to start the factory reset process.
  • Right: Hold the A button and tap the Home (Meta logo) button 5 times.
  • Left: Hold the X button and tap the Menu button 5 times.
The LED will blink orange/white while the factory reset is being performed. The LED will then change to light-blue during boot.Controllers can be used again as normal once boot completes

......for me the rest procedure did not seem to work as noted above..? I was told to try that with the headset left on. For the left, pressing the X button and then the Menu button, needs two hands, five times does not seem to show a blue light for a reset to occur..?

I was told they could change the left controller and send one out for me to then return the other. They generated labels etc. But it turns out they want the controller first and then when they get that back, and check it, they will send out a replacement, albeit it could be refurbished.
Not too happy as I assumed they telling me I can still enjoy the headset and use the Quest 3 and send the old one back, was meant send the old one back AFTER receiving the replacement. Guess not...!

So, anyone else tried to reset their controller and get it to work as noted..?

Thanks

I've not tried to reset my controllers so can't help you there sorry. Mine do deplete the batteries at different rates, not drastically so i.e. the left might be at 40%, the right at 20%. That's with fully charged batteries placed into the controllers at the same time. I do wonder how accurate the info is that is given for charge state, mine seem to go down really quickly to 20 or 30 percent then hover around there for a while with constant and somewhat annoying low battery warnings.

@Tykey Thanks. I wasn't sure if there was a problem or not and was somewhat eager to try and reset them at least. It is just the reset procedure as noted does not work for me.
There might not be an issue, just unsure at this point as to expect a more even battery wear, judging from what you, and some other posts I have read, that does not seem to happen.

@Unseul Thanks, had not considered that..!

As noted tho, the reset option does not seem to work for me. Meta, when chatting, noted that was cause enough to replace the left one........but the right one did not work when trying to reset it, might be doing in wrong tho...!

Thanks, done that now. Mine was set almost to full.

Since V69 dropped I do seem to have several updates applying when shutting the device down, often it going into sleep mode.

I'm just downloading V71 PTC, the updates are coming thick and fast. Not sure what happened to V70

V70 probably cancelled due to battery drain, lol...!
Anything noted as being new, that could be interesting..?

Just posted a Golf+ game on sale at 50% off.

Nothing new in experimental features, but you can now pin windows to the floor or ceiling if you want to watch media flat on your back and change picture aspect ratio. Also had a controller update too
