Battery not detected

Hi,
My Sony Vaio AW11zB arrived today, factory refurbished.

Anyway, I plug it in, turn it on & get an error saying the battery is not valid/detected or not inserted properly. I have tried talking it out & putting it back in several times now but nothing. The laptop works with no battery, just plugged into the wall but as soon as the battery is in, windows boots, then I get the error. Before windows boots the battery error light is flashing.

I have double checked the battery serial & it is the one that my laptop is supposed to use so I have no idea what to do.

Any suggestions what it could be & how I sort it?
Its my first laptop so i'm new to this...

Most likely a faulty battery, might be covered under the warranty but as its refurbed and classed as a consumable you might have to buy a replacement, I would check with the POS first.
