My car's been sat for a month and the battery is dead. I jumped it the other day and took it out for a five minute drive up the road and back. I assumed this would be enough to recharge the battery but as soon as I got home I turned the engine off and tried to start it again. Unfortunately it only turned over for half a second before dying again.

Is the battery rogered or have I just not ran the engine long enough?

if sat dead for a month, maybe it's been knocked out for good?

but think of it like recharging a AA, takes hours not minutes, I guess a 3-4 motorway trip would put life back in it, but if it holds the charge will be another thing
