Hello,

I noticed that BF1 via Xbox store online is $59.99. Via the Xbox store on the console it is £54.99

According to today's conversion rate the $59 equals roughly £41.

Has anyone had any experience of ordering games from the Xbox Store online and did you get charged any more other than the conversion rate?

If it goes through at £41 / £42 I think that is a good deal. Or am I missing something?

I would prefer a digital download as opposed for waiting for the postman or going to a store to buy it.

I buy all my games on Xbox digital from the US, I set up an amazon US account and just buy Xbox credit and add it to my account, just need to set your Xbox region on the console to US before hand. I have had zero issues so far.

Ah so I couldn't buy it as it is and pre-download when available? what would be the issue downloading it or the actual buying process?

does the console definitely need to be set to the US region?

It's odd why the store via the web defaults to US one.

I buy US Xbox gift cards from Amazon.com, redeem them on Xbox.com after changing the region on the website (bottom left of any page), then buy the game on Xbox.com using the credit in my US wallet.

Then I go to my console and the game will be in the ready to install list.

I never buy games from the UK store, it's just throwing money away.

Thanks for that I may give it a go. Just to confirm the console is set to UK region?

Can you think of a reason not to buy it from the us store (which is where it takes me to anyway) and buying on my credit card?

Edit: if I try and buy the gift card form the US Store it knows I am from the UK and won't me continue, perhaps I can use a VPN to get round that.

Edit 2: Used Hola Extension, that wasn;t enough it required US address, which I could fake. i could just buy it on the UK store :)

you dont need to use amazon there are other retailers out there that will let you just buy with paypal and they send you a code and you whack it in .

been doing it two years now with zero issues

Bought various games from various stores, tend to get close to the exchange rate but depending on the card used you might get stung a 'non sterling' fee. Likely a couple of quid.
