Coming in june think its the 15th on PSN and XBL. i know i will get it as its only 1200 MS points, cheap for what appears to be a quality multiplayer title

How much will this be on psn in pounds?

Also it seems a bit to arcady with regen health and infinite ammo.

I'm in two minds over this- isn't it the old battlefield done with the bad company engine?
The old un i used to play loads on the PC and it was a great game, i just think this is a "milk the battlefield " until bad company2 appears.
Hope i'm wrong but for once i'm not going to rush out and buy a battlefield game!

For a tenner it might be worth it for some arcady fun.

The real problem with this game is the amount of players, bfbc conquest mode just didn’t work because of the lack of people, tho the design of the level they have pick might fix that.

Dam PC version is not out till september

I hadn't realised that this was going to be an Arcade title and not a full game, which was a nice surprise, however a friend has told me it will only come with 2 maps and then they will see all extra maps as DLC :(

EA ANNOUNCES BATTLEFIELD 1943 COMMUNITY CHALLENGE THAT UNLOCKS ADDITIONAL BONUS MAP "CORAL SEA"

BF1943 Coral Sea community challenge (HD)

Battlefield 1943 Delivers Nonstop Multiplayer Action Across Four WWII Maps for $15
Stockholm, Sweden – May 29, 2009 – DICE, an Electronic Arts Inc. studio (NASDAQ: ERTS), today announced that Battlefield 1943™ will kick off a worldwide community challenge that, when achieved, will reward players by unlocking a fourth map called Coral Sea. The WWII Coral Sea map will be unlocked when the multiplayer community achieves 43M kills on Xbox Live and the same number on PlayStation®Network. When it ships this summer, Battlefield 1943 will include three maps (Iwo Jima, Guadalcanal, and Wake Island) plus this fourth bonus map, all for $15.

Coral Sea is designed to showcase the intense battle in the skies, offering an all-new Air superiority game mode. The legendary WWII action this map provides will have players dog fighting in this airplanes-only map, proving once again DICE delivers on a first class online vehicle warfare experience better than anyone else! Players will be able to track the progress of their respective console communities at www.battlefield.com/1943.

Battlefield 1943 is a premium arcade title that delivers endless hours of 24-player First-Person Shooter (FPS) action on popular maps inspired by Battlefield 1942™. In addition to Coral Sea, Battlefield 1943 will also have players battling over three tropic locations: Wake Island, Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima. These maps have now been updated with the DICE Frostbite™ engine, providing destructibility to the battlefield and leaving players with almost nowhere to hide. Gamers play as the US Marines or the Imperial Japanese Navy, competing by land, air and sea. They have the freedom to pick their path in battle - be it as a rifleman crawling through the trenches, a steel fisted tank commander, or a dog fighting ace pilot that rules the skies!

All four maps will be playable at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3 Expo) at the intersection of West Hall & Concourse Walkway.

Battlefield 1943, this highly anticipated FPS game, will be available on Xbox LIVE™ Marketplace (1200 MS Points) and PlayStation®Store ($14.99) this summer, and in September on PC.

What a joke. 3 maps?!!! 1200 points, big no from me. Thats like a tenner, i could get a full game for that price.

And the classes are watered down, do they think console gamers are stupid?

It annoys me that they are increasingly overcharging for arcade games.

From having played extensively on Battlefield Bad Company for the Xbox 360, I can tell you the majority of them are. No thought for tactics, teamplay, awareness of what's happening around them. I'd say about 75% of them are idiots.

So EA's move to market this $15 piece of junk at them is genius really.

Fair enough, but they should make more options for people who have half a brain.

So, only a couple of days before this is out... anyone else thinking of getting?

I am really in need of an FPS game. Have been very close to getting a PS3 cause it seems to have all the shooters I want to play, but seems a bit extravagant.

Is this likely to be worthwhile? Or would I be better of getting Bad Company? Does BC still have a lot of players?
