Battlefield 2 1.3 patch problem

I've just installed battlefield 2 for the first time and I have just put the 1.3 patch on it, but when I log in to the game it still says I'm using the previous version (1.1.2878-710.0).

The game still feels exactly the same, buggy and laggy. Has the patch been installed? :confused:

Can someone check if thier updated version still says the old version, please?

1.1.2878-710.0 is actually 1.3 but for some silly reason they chose to display it as 1.1.2878 so dont worry you have installed it correctly but as a general rule its one of the worst patches I have ever seen and seems to have caused more problems that it cured.

The 1.4 beta has just been released although would recommend waiting until its released properly as it will be un-reliable and there are only a few servers running it.

They still have not fixed the Hotel glitch on the Strike at Karkand map!!! Oh my god come on EA!!

Thanks for the replies. Just had to check to make sure it was installed properly. I was hoping it was going to fix the crash-to-desktop bug when connecting to servers. It's almost game-breaking because it takes me almost 5 minutes to log back in when it crashes.

It doesn't happen too often, luckily.

I get CTD, malc was saying pressing escape instead of join game gets around this?
