Battlefield 2+2142

What are the communitys for both BF2 & 2142 like at the moment?
Just seen 2142 for £5 on eastore, I already have it but a friend is wondering whether to get it.
Iv got neither CDkeys with me where I am and wont have access to them for a few days so cant check myself.

Its for casual publics and possibly the chance of something a little more organised, though not serious

As far as I know there are plenty of BF2 servers still going strong, downloading 2142 at the moment so I dont know about that yet.

Wouldn't mind trying 2142, as its the ONLY battlefield i haven't tried, but TBH i don't know whether i can be bothered to learn a whole new set of maps and their quirks...

After 4 years, I've only really learned all the ins and outs of BF2 maps.....plus the fact that BFBC2 is only (hopefully) 2-3mths away, my time will be spent on that for the foreseeable future.

strong communities on both, BF2 much more so, 2142 is slowly dying though
