battlefield 2 frustration

Your rigg should be fine , how many hours play time do you have BF2 has a very steep learning curve . You will not start to get competiive till around 500 hrs play time .

If you want to be a better player then GFX is not important , let me explain .

When I play clanbase matches I will turn everything to low settings , no aa or anything you will be able to see parts that are nornaly covered by shadows where people hide ect .

Notice how there are no hidong holes now and I can pawn away with anyone who previuosly I could not see .

Now I am pawning your ass big time , and yes the single shot M16/AK will own . This is how I play clanbase matches and it is how lot of people play all day , that is a big reason why a lot of good player will get the drop .

you only need to turn off shadows for that. And don't start all that rubbish how "stocks pwn," the SA80 beats all.

Moses , this was for the benifit of some guys gettin pawned mate .And for your info Unlocks are not allowed in the Clanbase matches i play.

if your pc is getting 70fps then its not the system, im guessing it may be net lag thats causing you to get owned, other than that you are probably just crap at the game :(

Geez. I wouldn't turn off eye candy for the sake of a higher score.
yea, taking a bit seriously don't you think? why have that card if you're going to have everything down low for the sake of a score lol

oh lol, the thing is though, i have no reason to disprove it, is there a way of hard installing fraps fps detector in me :D

It's very easy to notice, watch a movie on your pc at the normal rate, then select framerate doubling in ffdshow and it's loads smoother.

Worrying that exploits like that exist, shadows should be forced on for everyone, even worse that people actually abuse it for the sake of a higher score rather than having fun like games are all about. It's practically cheating.

It's simply the scope that makes it seem like this. Even if the L 85A1 was introduced in competitive play, most good players would not use it. The AK-101 is still better.

Single shot / small bursts it's good, but the deviation added per shot just makes the gun impractical... But of course, many people like it purely for the scope.

I know unlocks are allowed in leagues, which are pathetic anyway, but wrote what i said aimed at this,

which it patently won't.
Listen moses i am not getting into a my gun is bigger than yours , I was stating that my last 2 5V5 infantry games on Clanbase have been no unlocks . The M16 and AK47 on single shot pawns .

I was just trying to help the guy out fella amd show a screenie with shadows off. I have told a lot of newbies this and they have come on miles , it helps them understand a little more where people are ect.

I dont turn off eye candy unless I have a Clan game , however a lot of players , very good ones at that play all the time on low settings.

Okay

For starters thanks everyone you`re all great but i can guarantee you that some players i contend with have setups that go far beyond the realms of expertise due to match time and ping. For example i get shot by first timers who have ping in the hundreds ok these may be seasoned players registering another name but i doubt this to be the case in every instance and as far as match time well iam a first sarge and as you all know it takes some time to reach this rank seems almost as long as real time service:o)..anyway there are systems out there or specific tweaking that must give extremely high frame rates is this because they are overclocked? cause i`ve played on pc`s that get around 100 and i still get owned regularly , i`ve had enough time on the game to determine the difference which again i can only see as being frame rate. Also It seems a ping of 100 is insignificant when your frame rate is 150+ by the way my ping is 10 on average. I was wondering if RAM in exess of 2 gig would help also would a dual processor make a big diff in BF2 due to threads etc, and also if i where to go quad with ddr3 would that boost performance or is this just overkill for BF2. There`s something out there, is it my paranoia or just my spelling! P.S will somebody just tell me the ultimate system for BF2 irrespective of cost ( within reason guys.) ok iam a little obsessed humor me and i`ll leave you alone..Thanks

Hey Moses, thanks for the wise words , it seems that maybe just maybe i will need to practice a little more before i can part the seas :o)) On your first reply you mentioned a command that would disable the framerate within BF2 , could you please be a little more specific cause i tried the \o/ in game console but no go. Also if say this was disabled and you could get a frame rate of 190 would that be an enormous advantage cause i may be usless but those bullets are comin at me as if they have my name on them.

Thanks Moses your reputation precedes you :o) Would you also know why frame rates go from 50 to 90 continually, i have turned shadows etc off as per advice from others thankyou heaps guys .

There is no need to unlock your fps if you never reach 100fps.

I just came in here to say this: Stop trying to find a reason as to why you're doing so badly, other than you are not experienced enough. 60fps is fine, it’s better than fine and your system is fine. You will not improve with a better system. You just need to stop listening to people who say 400fps is important.

The reason you're getting destroyed so much is technique, it’s the same gun fighting principle for any game; take a little time with your shot and use small bursts or single shots. Don’t go bolting around in enemy territory begging for a quick death. Those kinds of things.

You don’t need 400fps, you need practise.

you get a higher fps and there are no annoying shadows which are just eye candy and dont make the game look bad if you have everything apart from lighting and shadows low and off.

personally i would have more fun staying alive than looking at the pretty shadows et al when im face up on the ground :p

ok iam getting to the end of this dilemma..apparently my frame rate was 70 when not in a populated area ie in another words when i spawn in a remote place away from all activity and certain death my frame rate is at its highest but when i move into the action why does my frame rate drop to around 30 . The upside is thanks to all the advice i now have a frame rate of 90 in remote areas and around 45-50 where the action is, can anyone explain why this is and i cant think of the name but someone mentioned vsync, well i went into ati catalyst controller and found nothing relating to vsync , and again thankyou thankyou even to those who reckon iam usless..:o))

My god that is horrendous, I didn't realise BF2 could look so bad. I could maybe understand it in a competitive environment I guess, but Il stick to having a more graphically impressive (and subsequently more immersive) game and a good score.
