Battlefield 2 noob question

I recently purchased battlefiled 2, created my online account and started playing, and i was just wondering how the points and ranks etc work because ive played for a couple of hours now and have got some badges etc but when i leave the game it says i have nothing and i have played 0.00.00 time, does anyone know whats going on?

are you playing in ranked servers?

non ranked = no points?

i specifically checked the search filter for ranked servers, so im assuming the ones that come up are ranked, ive tried lots of different servers too

Ranked servers are easily spotted in the server lists, they have 3 stripes a sargents rank next to them.

When i used to play (about a year ago now) you had to wait for the server controlling your stats to tick over (since each ranked server sends it the data where it's collated etc.) maybe the rank server hasn't updated.

Also if you get kickec/banned.disconnected early without a proper exit you lose your stats

yuor stats dont get logged until the end of the round, if you quit early they are lost

I am pretty sure that is not true.

How are you checking your stats? BFHQ or a website like www.bf2s.com?

I know some sites will only start logging your stats after you have reached a couple hundred global points, not sure about BFHQ. Also, sometimes expect the game to take more than a few hours to update.

BFHQ, i noticed you keep your awards but stats dont seem to update if you quit mid round

well ive finished rounds, and ive always been playing on ranked servers

Not true, thats in COD4. In BF2 it logs everything you do straight away on the server then it gets sent to the master servers to update your stats

I've got a little stats problem on bf2, downloaded highway tampa and pretty much only play that now. Am on a ranked server but i'm pretty sure its not updating my rank. And bf2 always asks me to download highway tampa..not too worried, tho i'd like some bigger guns if i can!!

Welcome to my World! I've had BF2 since day one, and the add-ons too, and yet my stats are still stuck at PFC and no unlocks for some reason. That's after well over 2,000 hours played on ranked servers alone.

Contact EA. their support I found is pretty good.

Was in contact with support for over a year, and in the end they got so irate about not being able to fix the problem that they eventually told me to **** off and now refuse to answer any more of my queries about the subject!

I've tried everything, nothing works. Now I'm on a completely different PC and ISP yet no matter what I do the stats still won't increase. To tell the truth, I've given up on trying to get it working as it's supposed to as it's no fun to play at all with no decent weaponry to use.

You should come play http://realitymod.com the entire mod is a giant unlock of weapons and vehicles you cant normally play with.
The only proviso being its pretty hardcore not the bunnyhopping arcade style of normal bf2

Just to make sure, You guys have updated to patch 1.41 right? Or whatever the latest was, seen as when you first buy the game it doesn't ASK you to patch it, you have to do it manually.
