Battlefield 2 patch problems

hey guys,
I got BF" Deluxe edition for christmas and I'm having trouble patching it.
I have downloaded several diff versions of the patch and none seem to work, some dont open, the one from the ea ftp download takes about 20 mins to open the patcher, it seems to have patched it, beacuse it opens a patching program, and when I check in game I'm still on an old version.

can someone help me please?

Try a reboot now you have patched it.

I tried the reboot hasn't patched is there a european patch?
I've got like 5 different versions of it and none work

I'm currently downloading another version of it
should I build up the patches from 1.2 upwards ? and see if that works..
the version I'm on is 1.1............. and a load of rando numbers
btw its the deluxe version

No reply yet so I'm guessing no one has told you..

The version in game is meaningless, as long as you run the 1.41 full patch and let it run its course (it can be a long one) then your fine and good to go.

I wish they'd ditch the numbers on the HUD tbh.

im in exactly the same position, my mate told me it was normal...
theres a new map called road to jahalabad or something which is VERY new... so if you see that on your server list and its not in RED text then your good to go !

ok I downloaded another version of the patch, ran it, it took about 5 mins to start, and another 5 to finish, I did a reboot and followed a friend into road to jallabd and it worked, luck of the draw with th patches as I've been told some are corrupt,

For some reason i cant log onto any server... it just tells me to check my network connections. It is also fully patched.... happens on fear as well...
