Got a reply on the EA forums by someone who has access to why people were banned etc and he came back with this;

PB didn't go crazy Violation

A fairly widespread hack just had its asrse handed to it.
Cheat/Hack Violations:
When PunkBuster detects a cheat or hack by repeated positive identification on a player's computer, a violation is raised. These violation numbers are 50000 and higher. Families of cheats are listed below. Resolution: Remove cheats and hacks from the computer.
#50000s - Aimbot
#60000s - Wallhack
#70000s - Multihack
#80000s - Gamehack
#90000s - 'Cheat' Video Drivers
#100000s - Speedhack
#110000s - Autofire
#120000s - Game Hook
#130000s - Attempted PunkBuster Hac

This is becoming beyond a joke, I have never hacked

Make sure in Vista you run BF2 as admin.

From what I can see here, it was just one server you were on from 20:46:24 - 21:18:58?

Have you tried to appeal the ban on the punksbusted forum?

EDIT: Also, what the hell is a game hook?

I havent tried to appeal yet and I havent a clue what a game hook is :eek:

Just got this shocking reply on www.punkbusted.com

Global guid bans are controlled by EvenBalance. You could also have run your guid in our MBL search on our main website page on the left. You would see that this cd-key is a leaked and that is banned. It has been in the wild sinse at least 2005.
It is used in several countries. There is nothing you can do once a cd-key has been leaked but to check your comp security or who you may have shared it with or where you bought it. eBay = bad. But after almost two years there is not much I'm sure you remember.

Where did you buy the game? Unfortunetly there doesn't seem to be a lot you can do, looks like more than one person has your CDKey, the only thing you can do now is buy the game again to get a new Key. :confused:

I cant remember what online shop it was from (as it was in 2005 on the release day) but its fully legit.

If I bought a copy off someone else (a used one) could I use their cd key on my account or would it have to be a new game to work with my account or can I never use my account again ?
