I'm getting back into Battlefield 2, but cannot get my profile to save the video settings I want, i keep getting the default settings. I have a Video.con file in my profile folder, but it is ignored. I have put my default video settings in the Profiles/Default video.com file, and it too is ignored.

Help. I want to have a decent looking display, with AA turned on. But cannot get Bf2 to do what i tell it too.

BTW running Windows 7 x64, had the same issue with Vista.

I can manually set all the setting apart from AA, as that requires a restart, and then I get default settings again. AAhhhhhhhh :(

Help Me Please

Stupid question- You're not using a custom resolution via the shortcut are you?
If so then when it restarts, the settings will display the defaults, but will actually be what you just set :)

The default one is the one it should load up with and for any new players.
There should then be numbered folders for each profile you have set up, like..

.\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0001\

should be for the first profile you set up. And this is the one it uses once you log in.

Make sure this is there, also make sure your account has rights to this folder and possibly try running BF2 as admin. Other than that try deleting the profiles folder and try again.

Nope, i have the same video.con in each profile folder, and even call it from the shortcut with +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +srx 1280 +sry 1024

And it still wont give me that res by default, it always has 1024 x 768. And I cannot get any AA turned on.

Bah Humbug.

in your post you have sRx sRy but the R's should be Z's

+szx ???? +szy ????

might be a type in your post though. but tbh I thought 1280x1024 was one of the res that BF2 did support so you should have no need to add them.

Did you try running as admin and/or deleting the folder?
