Get back to the Battlefield!

The chaps over at Battlelog.co have had BF2 running for quite some time and it's popularity is about to increase due to them having a release date for...

Hello Revive Players!

We don't know if you noticed (we certainly have!), but we have been experiencing record-breaking player counts over the past two weekends. This is awesome! Over 1,100 concurrent players online at once this past Sunday. We don't know what to say! Our services have been expanding like never before, and the Revive team couldn't be more excited for what's in store next. Just this weekend we had to expand our Teamspeak 3 server to 128 slots (you guys filled our 32-slot server fast!), so please come join us! Discord is still open to the public for chat, and provides a solid stream of communication with our dedicated and hard-working Moderation Team! They don't bite too hard, say hi!

The official release date for our BF2142 Revival is set in stone for Friday, September 23rd! If you've been following our news posts, you know that we've been hard at work bringing the proper infrastructure to life. We're proud to announce that existing players should have a seamless experience getting started on BF2142. When the time comes, a launcher update will be pushed which will bring compatibility for the long awaited BF2142 public consumption.

If you've been waiting eagerly for the release, nows a perfect time to give Battlefield 2 a try while we patch up the final pieces! See you on the battefield, soldiers!

Lets get back to the real Battlefield!

As mentioned there is no need to use your old dvds. You can use an old install if you want to save some extra bandwidth though.

It's completely free. There's no updated graphics. It's literally exactly the same as vanilla but with added maps and bug fixes that DICE never bothered with.

Ranks/unlocks are all there provided you play on the servers that have them turned on (which are the majority I believe).

It's all pretty much made possible by Project Reality dev Ancient Man writing a new back end which was originally used by PR.

i remember the G36C for the medic being absolutely brilliant. really great fun game. I kind of wish that the revive project just kept all weapons unlocked by default.

Some servers have everything unlocked by default.

If you guys are enjoying this then you really should play Project Reality if you haven't already.

Yeah but the stats aren't tracked.

As I said previously in a the squad thread, I like to have something to work for... A reward for hard work.

Like the medals you get with BF2 were the best I've ever seen, you needed some serious dedication to get them!

I've played PR back in the early days.... But simply not for me. I like the easy jump in and frag :D.

Besides majority of people playing BF2 are prop old BF2 vets.... Because for a newbie to play this would make their head explode with the hit boxes.

Ranks/unlocks are great for the more run and gun games but not for PR/Squad :)

It took me a while to get back into the swing of BF2 bugs/hitboxes but I'm back to loving it!
