Battlefield 2 - Still worth buying?

Does BF2 still have a good player base? and as a noob am I going to fit in?

Also, which version to get: Complete Collection or Deluxe Pack?

Or just hang on for ET: Quake Wars? :D
 
BF2 can be had for next to nothing now and is still mega popular so you'll have no probs getting into it.

Try an get the deluxe vers assuming thats special forces.
 
Complete version is like £26, deluxe version is £15, I'd get the deluxe.
I only play BF2, I only got BF2:SF so I could have a bash and get the extra guns.
Well worth buying the game though :)
 
Agreed, just bought a copy of BF2:SF recently after playing BF2 since the release day and I must admit its added a lot into the original BF2 to keep me going for a while yet.

Buy it and become addicted :p
 
I saw a version in on of bransons big shops that was like £20 it had all the offical addon's, SF, EURO force, Armored Fury or somthing like that.

One of the best games I've ever played, don't get much time to play it nowadays :(
 
I've played it from day one and still play it daily.
Best online game ever released in my opinion. Still loads of servers up & loads of players competing.
Definately worth buying.
 
yep defo buy the deluxe version (BF2+SF addon) at least and ignore any the game is ruined comments, also buy BF2142 which is a totally diff game but a lot more fun , as for ET:QW dont expect battlefield gameplay as again its a totally diff game, diff objectives and diff gameplay
 
I recently got back into it, by back into it I mean actually bothering to play the game for more than four hours. Even now there's plenty of servers, and all the good mods are starting to come out. Maybe I just suck, but be prepared, as the game seems to have a steep learning curve, I remember first playing the game and it just felt that whenever I spawned I was dying right away to a vehicle or artillery. Started playing on infantry only servers are they're so much more fun.
 
Yes its still worth buying, i bought it about 2 months ago, even though i got bored after a week, its still fun and i no some people still play it religously.
 
I had never really played it before about 2 months ago, picked up a copy off the bay for £7 and have to say its great fun, and still has a huge following, its just a shame i still suck so much at it lol :p
 
Wait for ET:QW ... like I am :p

I did play BF2, and did enjoy it, BUT it made me feel so ill for some reason... got the worst"see sick" type feeling when i played it for more than 45 minutes.
Never happened to me before in any other game
