Got Battlefield 2 today :)

Problem...
1) I enter my password to log into my account, press enter and then it goes onto
"accessing client server" or something alone those lines, but basically I am logging in.

It then freezes on that screen, and even after waiting 10minutes, it still has not logged me in.
I then press CTRL+ALT+DEL and it says Battlefield 2 is not responding.

HOWEVER

1) When my mates are playing Battlefield 2 and I click "join game" on xfire, I enter my username and password on the thing that pops up from xfire, and it logs me in.
I then either allow it to connect to the server, or press ESC to not load the server, and then I am at the logged in screen.

Can anyone help me?
By the way, my Broadband is capped at 2GB a month, does that have anything to do with it?

Thank you so much, Steve :)

no, i had this earlier!!

Do you use a firewall. I use zone alarm and i had to configure it so zone alarm would allow all BF2.exe files.

Try something along those lines and see if it helps! ;)

Yep I had Zonealarm a while back when I first got BF2 and I was going mental trying to figure out why my new game wasn't working, turns out that the unblock message was popping up when I was logging in, but of course I couldn't see it because I was in the game fullscreen.....

Well, when I 1st tried going on the game it popped up with that message (Norton Firewall) and I click "Allow always" for BF2.exe

This let me log in the 1st time, but now, it just freezes, yet this message doesnt pop up now.

Norton also has the BF2.exe as "Permit all"

and when I try to log into my account, my routers lights go off as if its too much for my router...

Please help me :( lol

Try deleting the entry in norton for the bf2.exe and re adding it. When you patch the game it changes the .exe and confuses norton.
