Battlefield 2 & x1900XTX

Just installed my new pc.

Specs, opty 165, 2 gb gksill ram, x1900xtx, 580w hiper psu.

Been trying to play all day, and the game hangs at 62% on loading, doewsnt matter what map.

Ive tried with cat 6.3's and omegas 6.2 cats getting the same prob all the time.

Any ideas?


oh how do i get to run this in 1920x1200?

62% is where is pauses for along time whilst optimising shaders especially on the highest graphics settings, this happens on my 4400+ X2 and also on my 3000+, just leave it alone for a while and eventually it will load. One the shaders have optimised it won't need doing again unless you change your graphics settings.

Type something like battlefield resolution fix into google. If you see anything talking about fullscreen+1 then you've found it.

which patch? there was a new one last night. Try the EAUK BF2 forums for help if you cant get it working.

Yeah it hangs for a while around there as said.

You aint just been quiting out of it everytime it pauses have you.

The first time it loads it actually tells you that it is optimising shaders and will only happen once unless you change you graphics settings/drivers.

I don't have a major long pause once it is at 62%, I'm normally one of the first 3 to enter every map I play and I've not got the best rig here by far, the secret is all about the install of drivers and software as to how games load and perform
