When I close Battlefield 2 down after a game, its on my desktop but the music is still playing.

Then when it finishes you get the "windows error" sound which if you dont know what I mean is like the "DUH" sound

Anybody else get this?

Thanks

I also get this, infact sometimes I get a double whammy of windows error sounds and theres usually a dump file in the Battlefield 2 folder in My Documents after this has happened.

I tried figuring out what the dump files were by using windows debugging tools but didn't get anywhere, now I just ignore the sounds as the game runs fine. However I still feel that theres something up with the game and moreover this also happens with Special Forces and the recent BF2142 beta. Its just really weird  :/ .

Yea i also get the error sounds when i quit BF2, pretty sure it only happens when ive connected using xfire tho

Audionut and Snoops

I get the sound played twice also when I quit BF2

Snoops, I just finished playing BF2 now and X-Fire just quit for some reason!
May try it without X-Fire connected.

I have onboard sound ATIorNvidia guy, how would I update the onboard sound drivers? (anyone can answer lol)

Snoops and Audionut, do you have on board sound too?

Thanks guys, Steve

BF2 is unfinished. It's buggy as hell. When I refreshed my favourites, all the servers disappear. I ended up selling it and moving back to CSS. I'm waiting for another newer, properly made game to be released.

Na ive got a Creative Audigy sound card. To update your onboard sound , find out what mobo u have and goto the makers website :)

Yes I do, its a Via Envy24. However i've disabled it as I use a USB 2.1 Sound System and a Plantronics DSP-500 USB Headset. I also have the latest drivers for it.

Just need to get my logging into my account sorted now

1stly I am going to post this in this thread and on a new thread

I had to minimise the Battlefield 2 screen tonight and this was there...

WTF.jpg

I have never ever ever had that message before, I then Googled it and it said something about a Memory leak

I then looked in the Task Manager and BF2.exe looked like this...

WTF2.jpg

Could anyone help me? I have 1GB RAM and a XFX 7600GT XXX
Why is Battlefield 2 using so much virtual memory?and was Battlefield 2 the cause for that message in the taskbar?

Thanks so much!

no offence but battlefield 2 is RAM dependant and will need a good 2GB to run smoothly

I am slowly figuring that out lolol

May get another GIG when I get my student loan/job

I find 1GB of good ram and my BF2 runs fine, I am always the 1st 3 - 4 on the next map if not the 1st. Perhpas that may be because of my raptop drive though ?

Granted 2GB can be better, But im not spending another £150 + on 1GB ram for just a game that runs fine on high settings on my system.

I think the RAM story is dependant on defferent peoples machines
