Still very popular & loads of servers up, I still play daily & mainly on 64 man Infantry only servers as the street battles are Epic. :cool:

Just started playing again now I have found it works on my laptop i will be reporting for duty most nights, to think I upgraded my pc to a geforce 6800gt fir this game

There are still plenty of servers about - most of them 64 player too

If your half decent at it I wouldn't bother, you will inevitably get kicked/banned for a made up reason by a sulky admin and run out of servers to play on, unless you play infantry only (I don't see the point personally). I'm waiting for BF3 now.

Considering buying this off Steam, I have the retail version but its a nightmare getting it to work on my laptop as it hasn't got a DVD drive and I seem to need the disc in the drive! Ahhhh

The only issue with the steam version that I can see thus far is that you have to turn off the steam in-game overlay or PB will kick you all the time - unless you play on non-PB servers of course!

You don't need the disc in drive after patch 1.5

Ah didn't know that, I have the "Complete Collection" so Euro Force, Special Forces, etc are they all playable without a disc?

You get them all rolled into one mate.

Instal BF2 then Spec forces then instal 1.41 & 1.5. (I think) Pretty sure that's right. In the last patch you get the add ons & the no disc ability.
I still play BF2 daily, Had an epic round tuther day as Commander where i got the easy Gold but got Veteran commander & a Special service ribbon as well all in the one round, Was chuffed to bits still after nigh on 5 years of playing.
Any time i get a bit bored I just start another char. :cool:
