having a Lan this weekend and our main game will be Day of Defeat but we were thinking of Battlefield 2 as well.

The complete collection is 14.99 on Steam. Is this game worth having for lan? eg. is it still much online?

Absolute classic game, I play it still and the servers online are hit and miss, there are still some people playing and I always find a game however there is not much in terms of stopping hackers and you can get peeved off at random people killing the hell out of you.

Is Battlefield 2 worth £15 now? I only play the main game and never liked the add ons so I would say no, its probably worth £7 or something. Saying that, being pinned down defending a flag while 2 tanks are raping you and your team mates then a plane comes and destroys one tank and while your on the brink of dieing a heli comes and kills the other is priceless.

I wouldn't say BF2 is worth £7.50 - I got it for £3.75 on a recent Steam sale and that seems about right. Remember that you get the last two expansion for free in the latest patch (version 1.50 maybe) so you should be able to find BF2 very cheap somewhere.

I have just started playing Battlefield: Bad Company 2 as well...a little late tho!

Feel free anyone to add me as a steam friend. My username is: beerbaron564

And then out of nowhere, Artillery drops all around and kills you. Incoming enemy's neutralize the flag before you respawn. :p

Love it, just hope Battlefield 3 is even better! ;)

One little trick (not sure if its been updated to include a better method this was soon after release where the functionality didn't exist in the menus) we found with BF2 that might be useful for LANs - if one player starts an AI bot game you can force the client on the other players to connect to that users IP and join their game in progress which makes it a bit more fun on LAN with smaller player loads.
