Battlefield 2142?

can anyone tell me if Battlefield 2142 is online only or does it have a single player mode? and is it a proper first person shooter?

there is a single player component to the game consisting of just 16player maps with bots, it plays in exactly the same way as multiplayer normaly would

but you need internet to register before you can even play single player (i think it says on the box you need the internet iirc)

but it's not a proper first person shooter in the story sense
