Hi all
I recently picked up a copy of battlefield 2142 at a charity shop for the extortionate price of £1 lol

Having never played it before i looked around the net and found a 1.5 patch.

My question is :do i need any other patches?

yeah 1.5 is the latest. released ages ago but support has stopped for this game understandably. my fav game of all time so far. much prefered it to number 2 as i only improved the game play. only reason to prefer number 2 imo is the maps but i liked some of bf2142's more. hardly anyone plays this game now though so you wont be able to really appreciate it to its fullest
 
Is 1.5 the only patch i need or will i have to do others first in sequence


Hmm if its really badly deserted i may just stick to bf2 as i recently installed that and can still find w
quite a few games.

Will i still be able to find a few games if i install bf 2142?

Yes plenty of people still play it, you should always be able to get on a game. I played for years and became a very skilled sniper! There should be a direct patch up to v1.5 but patching was always a little bugged so you might have to update to a version around 1.42 then again to 1.5.

For standard BF2142 I think you can just patch to 1.5, but if you get Northern Strike I think you have to patch it again once installed. Played it last year and there was plenty of peeps still playing, tempted to play it again actually - with actual teamwork bf2142 is one of the most fun games i've ever played :)
 
The titan gameplay mode was one of the best objective based game types ive played

Shame that it was incredibly laggy once you got a decent amount of player inside the titan. People would disappear through the floor and all sorts.
 
Ok guys got it installed and added 1.5 patch

Game asked for serial key before installing and all went fine.
However when games has loaded it asks for a account which i then create. No matter what name i try (and i tried loads of weird ones) the box comes up and says either name in use or cd key invalid even if i try the same name twice.

I thought a game from 2006 would not be tied to 1 pc when a serial was previously entered however it looks like im wrong.
Was really looking forward to playing this too.....oh well at least it was only a quid lol

Hmmm 4.99 on a certain site or 9.99 for a deluxe edition........either worth it?

I quite enjoy playing it still. Does have bugs, but what game doesn't!

Oh, and Im pretty sure the 1.5 patch includes ?Northern Strike.
 
As far as I know the CD key will be tied to the account it was originally registered with and as you picked it up at a charity shop it's probably already been used. EA will transfer the key to another account (I had to call up EA to transfer the key) but as you don't know the details/owner of the original account I don't think you'll have much luck mate
