Battlefield 3 has stopped working.

Is this a common problem then? I get it every few matches, it can be once the map has actually loaded up or even before the game even launches. It's getting really annoying now, bf3 feels like a buggy flash game in a web browser.

Any advice on what I can do ?

Nope not common, works fine for many many people. Do not know the answer, maybe remove bf3 and origin then reinstall?

That would be my first point of call if anything stops working. Bit of a pain for you download guys if you did not tick the box to keep the downloaded install files in origin.

I've been having this a bit, I half wondered if it was due to me using Google Chrome as the web browser as I know its not always compatible with everything.

Ok thanks, I have the retail copy anyway so reinstall is not a big issue. I was wondering as well if it was a problem with Chrome. It would be nice to have a poll to see what web browsers people are using with BF3.

Mine crashes most of the time, can be random though, 5mins in or 45mins in. So frustrating!! Probably will take mine back and exchange it

I think there is definitely an issue Dice need to address here. Hope official drivers sort this stuff out.

Had an issue just now on the ocuk server, only 20 players on or so. All of a sudden my fps dropped to the mid teens, (normally 60+), alt tabbed to see if anything else was effecting it, nothing i could see. Tried to join again but met with a black screen, quit battlelog and origin, logged in but any server i tried joining i got a bf3 exe has stopped working message. Also getting random green flashes on a round earlier.

Your game copy is tethered to your Origin account, so good luck with that.

I've started getting this same error yesterday and it's persisted today. I've changed nothing at all, and it was fine until yesterday since I got it on the 25th. It's all rather puzzling.

The problems affecting everyone seems to be completely arbitrary. There's no rhyme or rhythm to it :confused:

I've done Prime95 and Furmark to stress the CPU, the GPU and the RAM. They show up no errors even after an extended period of time, so it's got to be the game itself somehow.

Since launch I sometimes get this when trying to join a server. It usually crashes on the "Logging in..." bit. I use chrome so I'll try out FF to see if that helps.

I get it all the time, in fact so much it's putting me off playing at times, I love Battlefield games and have played them all to death so launch problems and patches are what i'm used too BUT this is soul destroying.

Random game freeze where I can Ctr Alt Del out and see the bf3.exe has stopped working message. I can usualy rejoin the game but it just breaks the feel. Think the longest run i've had is about 25 mins

Doing a bit of reading on the Battlelog forum and it seems it's a regular problem for a lot of people. I'm on a 5870, 1680 x 1050, win 7 64, 4 gig ram Q6600 @ 3.2 using Firefox as my browser ..

Loving the game but hating the freezing ..

Very common, in fact it happens all the time to me, can't even start the game. Tried everything!

The game is a buggy mess.

Could be your router. I had the BT router and suffered lots and lots of random disconects. Binned that thing off and now the game runs super smooth

no, it isn't the router, even the single player campaign disconnects with Origin disconnected!

That is how it started for me, it didn't crash for the first two hours, then I came back, started a new game, crash, but second time started fine and played again. Then next time I came it crashed more consistently and now it crashes all the time.
