Before bf3 if that ever comes, there will be another bf released on consoles and then a free bf game for pc in the summer I think. Neither them is bf3 afaik
 
Looking foward to this, not played PC games in a long long time but I might buy this if it seems anything like BF2 as I quite liked a good session on BF2. Shame my BF2 disk is broke, anyone got an idea what spec pc is going to be needed to run this then? I'm thinking my 1.8Ghz C2D and X1950XT will not be up to the job I ain't really been keeping upto date on the latest hardware ect..

I know you mean it in jest. But it is being released as a "Games for Windows" game, and as such will be Vista only on the PC. The mac version of course won't care.
