That is great if you love BF3 and play it all the time and want all the DLC. Not everyone does want all the DLC or wants to play it everyday. People like me who play for 5 hours a month or something will get stung. I have not touched it in a couple of weeks but I would still have to pay per month for it to sit on my HDD doing nothing until I decide I fancy an hour or two. Unless they allow so many hours free for people like me who do not play it all the time.

But who knows what they will do, have to wait and see :D

Don't buy the subscription then, you'll likely not miss out on much. You can then purchase maybe one or two of the DLC packs if they take your fancy.

EDIT: Everyone seems hooked on it being a MONTHLY subscription, I'm fairly certain it won't be. Look at all of EA's other subscription stuff, it's yearly and all is fine.

You'll pay $XX for a yearly subscription, which will give you access to W, X, Y, and Z, and some other features. If you don't want W, X, Y, and Z, and some other features, then don't buy. You'll still have the game you paid for to play. They haven't deceived you, or anything.

Pretty cool job you have!

Monthly subs for an FPS hasn't really been done before, maybe it could be for the better? I'll give it a shot anyway.
 
Bf3 is pretty much the only game I play and I would mind paying a subscriptions. But not if they failed to fix ongoing bugs that have been around since release. Ie I have an eyefinity setup and i can't see locked on targets or grenades. Why can't they fix that?
 
simple, just go back to BF2.

Then before you know it online gaming will be pay for this pay for that, Say goodbye to the good old days of online gaming.

Not just that, people are struggling with money as it is, they find it hard to justify paying 39.99 for a pc game let alone added subscription. You should all start making a stand because quite frankly these big buisness are becoming greedy now. Its not hard If you all dont bother buying it then they wont do it again.
 
Won't pay them a penny until they fix the game greedy delevopers, this whole dlc subscription is joke escpaliy with the game in the current state
 
I (try to) play BF3 competitively but in its current state it just not up to the job tbh. Its a great game, and I love playing it, but my god it feels rushed sometimes.

To get me to subscribe to anything they'd have to at least give me the following:

- VIP lists for servers: We pay good money for a dedibox ffs, so why cant we have a white list on our servers?

- Spectator mode / battlerecorder: This imo is an absolute must for any competitive clan. And more than a little useful if you're trying to run tournaments. Livestreaming from a MAV just doesn't cut it.

- Bugs: To many to list really, squish them, preferably before implementing subs.

- Balancing: There's still allot of work to be done here tbh, so lets get the basics right before we move on. I know it'll never be perfect, but it can damn well be closer than it is atm.

- Regular DLC: I'd want transparency, to see a DLC road-map for at least the next 6 months. Why would anyone sub based on some vague promise of future content that may or may not happen? Details damn it! This isn't an MMO!

- Haxor: They really need to put more effort into killing this.. Promoting a hacker to EA forum mod, really? Mass fake-bans on PB, wtf?

I already got bored of BF3 purely due to the content, they are using excuse of hackers to move on, even though i don't see how that would change?

They have become an embarrassment frankly, even their own staff cheat, if they go along with this, Battlefield is dead.

Officially.

There should be a poll.
 
I will never pay monthly to play a game I already bought on my connection that I already pay for.....

At least there's good old CSS to go back to and Valve wouldn't screw over the community

Ultimately if a product is good and constantly improving, why not pay a subscription for it? Gaming is one of the only things in the world that can do and offer this so it does make sense, though I am apprehensive at the moment.
 
Why are so many people thinking it will stop them playing BF3, if they don't get a sub? Surely the sub is only for DLC and future things.
 
They still havnt fixed this game completely and they think they can charge people with paying to play?
