If I pay the crazy £50 price tag for a digital download of BF3 via PSN, will it include a free Back To Karkand download? I need to be sure, as it will sicken me to then need to buy that too!

I previously had the physical limited edition on Xbox 360.

Just buy it on disc and then the DL content separately, surely has to be cheaper than £50 where you don't actually own the physical media.

Be careful of buying BF3 on PS3 mate as the controls feel as Clunky as hell. :(
I bought it in a deal when I traded my old fat for a slim & have tried to play it a few times but the controls feel terrible. This is coming from a BF2 fanatic as well, Am Gutted mate & am still waiting for some Magic patch that will make it playable for me.
Just thought I'd let you know Before you blow a Fifty on it.

Thanks mate, I read something about the PS3 input lag, I was taking some risk there I must be honest - sort of hoping it wouldnt affect me.

If it doesnt feel like the Xbox version which I was maxed out on, I'd be dissapointed

This game really needs to be played on PC, 64 vs 64 with no lag.

The lag is dependent on connection, so ultimately lag could still be a problem regardless. DiCE also went to great lengths to design the maps to work in smaller scenarios on consoles so again, it doesn't need to be 64v64 to get fun out of it, it works well. It's just a different experience.

I wasnt referrIng to network lag guys, look up PS3 controller lag specifically on BF3. Im assuming none if you have played the ps3 version? I may rent first to see hiw bad it feels compared to ps3

Damn typos, iphone sorry lol

Input lag on the PS3 has improved with the latest patch (providing you turn anti-aliasing off), but it's still there to an extent and it's still noticeable. Annoyingly it's far less prominent during co-op so they've clearly made a mess of something somewhere. Not to mention there appears to be some kind of acceleration applied to analogue stick movement when aiming which makes it frustratingly difficult to track a moving target effectively. Never had an issue with BC2.

If you can play it on PC instead, do it. I briefly tried the 360 beta too and it felt more responsive than the PS3.

PC has dedicated servers for this game, so there is no lag, its not connection dependent. I have this game on the 360 too and 12 vs 12.on the maps is might boring.

The consoles have dedicated servers too and yes, it is connection dependent. We are a long way off ridding ourselves of lag in online arenas regardless of dedicated servers. That's why people LAN.

You guys may be confusing input lag with low fps, sometimes fps can drop to 20 on PS3 in really intense fights on BF3, it's normally 30, and even at 30 it still feels very 'laggy' due to the fps.

Don't buy it on PSN unless you cant wait. Buy it from somewhere else, you should I believe if the disc is new get the B2K expansion free. As for input lag, it's almost unnoticeable for me however, turning AA off puts loads of input lag on for me (bit weird really) and other people have had the same issue. On the other hand there are people who had loads of input lag before the patch, after patch they chose to turn off anti aliasing which corrected the input lag to a certain extent. Then there are those that have no luck with either but they seem to be quite a small minority. So, yes on the PS3 there will be input lag but if you a lucky it shoudlnt be game breaking. Its still worth the buy imo but PC is the best platform for it.

You can do that on a console? first game I've ever known to give you such options.

Nope, even when the framerate is relatively consistent the delay is still there. It's not a network issue, it's simply that what you do with the controller doesn't immediately translate to what's happening on screen.

Only since the most recent patch, rather than fix the core issue they've just worked around it I guess.

PS3 input lag

Been playing the PS3 version for over 70 hours, and cannot say I've noticed any such problem - it plays much the same as Bad Company, Bad Company 2 etc...

Not that I'm denying there is indeed a problem, but I've personally never noticed it, its just as sluggish as it's ever been really, but its what I come to expect from console BF games; and in no way is it a bad thing.

I rented it on Sunday and the single-player felt fine, no signs of controller input lag. If anything the small graphical differences looked better to my eye than the Xbox version. I couldnt try multi with it being a rental.

Just need to find a limited edition version now, dont much fancy paying £12 for Karkand separately.

Still fancy the digi download version, but yeah its better to have a physical version to sell later :)
