Battlefield-3 PC Advice

If you're gonne spend £440 on a 580, I'd definitly go with a 3GB version and OC it yourself, something like this.

I've read that 3GB doesn't scale very well at the moment. Correct me if i am wrong

Yeah, Because 25-27 FPS is very smooth.

I didn't say 25fps.

He has a Phenom II X4 and a HD6870 and he runs it on all ULTRA @ 30fps+

Oh and yes 30fps is smooth, as thats what most console games run at and look fine.

How about a 6970/5970 or even a 6990?

My 5970 runs it great.

2 Months back I also purchased new rig ready for BF3, Oblivion, COD etc etc..

Yes I spent a little more then your budget and abit excessive on some things, but, im running the BETA of BF3 with everything on Ultra and maxed at the moment. Works a treat with fps at around 35-50.

Just cut out a few things like the excessive RAM, and high end m/b, SSD,.. and the price will come down..
