most people with half a lot of the graphics settings turned to to low/medium apart from the textures as it makes spotting people so much easier

i used to play with almost everything maxed and i used to gert horrible scores , turning everything down made me atleast 2-3x as good

have a look at my thread i done already ;)
and please post your fps thanks :p
Nice one, cheers! :p

On the brink of getting either 2x MSI's Twin Frozr 560Ti 2GB or the MSI Twin Frozr GTX580 3GB and will gladly post my benches once I bite the bullet.

lol so true, i bought a 6970 for BF3 - got sick of not being able to see anything, after a few days turned it down to medium everything.

I find people hard to spot on certain parts of caspian border, mainly forest and hilltop. Running on ultra the vegetation looks too good at times.

Yeah the shadows and light interaction used to make me stop and just stare at it all.

you now made me load up origin and bf3 to try this.

no try about it if i were playing this comp i would have everything on low tried this recently for few days and my fps was like 125 :D

but while playing normal on public servers or for fun i just use normal settings which giz me 60fps

people are making config type generators for this that removes the crap. not trying anythnig yet until we know its not a ban . maybe dice may allow who knows.

what they need to do is stop blurring crap and adding stuff you dont need in fps

Blur is one of the worst things in a lot of modern games. If it's enabled i start to feel a bit woozy after a short time playing. Ive never tried lowest settings yet, as im pretty happy with the performance i get on ultra with my setup.

make sure ssao/hbao shadow crap is off aswell thats one of the main ones you dont want to all dark shadows around when people are running around in camo gear, you want nice light coloured textures

i always turn blur and depth of field off...

whats the points of having nice crisp high resolution graphics and then applying a blur filter to them? they should stay on consoles where they need that crap to disguise the jaggy mess and horrible distance textures

So basically you are at an advantage if you

1. Cannot afford a decent PC; or
2. 'Cheat' by lowering the textures/shadows to spot people better?

I used to rape IRNV. Then I realised that I didn't really pay £3k for a PC to display the colours yellow and green!

My challenge - get skill, learn the maps and practice headshots!

I do like to run with as much detail/high settings as possible. Like to get my moneys worth from the kit ive bought.

depends what you playing for doesnt it if its for fun and on pbulic servers then whack everything on its a laugh

playing a scrim where alomst everyone will be doing it is a different matter.

saying its a cheat is quite daft though

this is why you have promod and stuff to strip the bs that isnt needed in the game but dice/ea want hard dlc sales so it probably will neve happen on there games.

which is a shame.

Agree with the above. Hence why I used 'X' when I said cheat :)

I just wouldn't want to lower settings for general play. I often repeat myself on Mumble to the clanmates; "How can people compare MW3 to this game"? This usually comes when I am darting across a field on Caspian with hails of bullets flying over, jets wizzingf past, a low flying heli getting RPGd by a team mate.

Seriously, why would you wish to remove that graphical goodness for the sake of extra kills? I have found myself gasping sometimes at the sheer awesomeness of the awesomeness.

On another note, we made up a quite funny saying

D...I...C...E... it's NOT in the game... yet
(cf. EA sports, it's in the game)
I might make this the start of our upcoming clan video :) :)

its no different to the people on public CS servers back in the day running around with 10:1 or better kill ratios because they were playing at 800x600.

i bet if you play bf3 at a low resolution its far easier aswelll because everything is bigger and more in your face
