I have BF3 but i cant stop it from crashing.

Spec is as follows,

E6550 @ 2.6ghz stable with prime 95 6 hours
4gb geil 810mhz
HD 5770 stock speed
150gb HD
windows 7 64 bit

Crash time varys, basically the screen freezes, the audio loops, and i have to ctrl alt del and end bf3 process.

I get the error message with Windows 7 says= battlefield 3 tm has stopped working and an end program option.

This is very frustrating as this spec runs bf3 fine at low settings...

crashes normally before 10mins multiplayer.

Tried everything on the EA website compabilty mode running in xp sp3, running as admin, changing folder name, disalbing on board audio and reinstalling punk buster...

Any suggestions before i reformat my hd and clean install :(

Just the game

I doubt this is the case as I run the game with no problems for hours.

You could try and lower the resoloution and drop the spec to low to see if this helps.

Make sure all drivers for mobo and gpu are latest.

I do know that BF3 pushes the system to the limit and will use all your resources.

Hope you get it fixed as this is a fantastic game.

Try with your system at stock.

I had the same problem, crashing, locking up, drop to desktop etc.

Turns out BF3 hated my 16GB being at 1600MHz C9 (stock), whereas every single other game, benchmark, and test runs flawless. I can Prime forever, I can pass every LinX/IBT test, and play BF BC2 and the like all day long no problem.

But BF3? Won't last 5mins.

If I set my 16GB to 1333MHz C7 instead, BF3 runs flawless.

Who knows why! I'm just glad that after weeks of faffing trying to get it to work it finally does :D

So yeah, set your system to stock, and try again, BF3 seems to be rather picky.
